Here at By George, we combine our love of the land, animals, cheese to create spreadable, meltable, munchable delicacies from our farm and dairy in Southern Oregon.

Founding duo Tyson Fehrman and Jon Steiger first pursued their love of local food by traveling from Wisconsin to Oregon to experience and learn from the state’s hotbed of organic farmers and diverse production practices. After participating in the Rogue Farm Corps program and learning how to make cheese, the pair returned to the Midwest armed with new knowledge and a willing customer base. But after a tragic passing of a farmer-mentor, they were called to return to Southern Oregon and take up the reigns at what is now By George Farm, ensuring the land remained in agricultural production and the farm is a center for knowledge sharing with the next generation of growers.

Now, Tyson and Jonny—along with a team of interns, cows, ducks, sheep, and farm dogs—proudly provide artisanal cheese, duck eggs, and wool using pasture-centered production practices.
