I have decades of experience in the kitchen. When I retired from my first profession I attended Auguste Escoffies School of Culinary Arts and proved I was as proficient in the kitchen as I belived I was. I externed at Eastwood Winery for 6 weeks and at The Pie Chest for 8 weeks. Had so much fun externing that I continued to work at The Pie Chest until they closed on 3.14. Running a little coffee shop (I'm located inside Minerals & Mystics) seemed like a good way to spread my joy of kitchen bliss to others. I have done some catering and wedding cakes "on the side" for 40+ years, and really do know my way around a cookie. I bake the standards, chocolate chip, brownies (with a 1/4 inch of ganache) and blueberry muffins. I also go way off the reservation with Bacon Chocolate Chip cookies, Knob Creek Blondies (bourbon, for the uninitiated), and Brule' Rice Krispie Treats. Oh, and my signature baked good is either a Black Velvet Cake or Black Magic Brownies!
As for coffee - it is the elixir . . . I proudly serve Trager Brothers Coffees and Lone Light Sombra. I have a good selection of 'bag' teas and one or two loose leaf teas. I also serve a masala chai that is my own brew. It gets high marks everytime I serve it. Hot chocolate is available for thos who don't do tea or coffee. I don't offer espresso based beverages, however I am able to whip up some hot milk or whipped cream, if you like.
