Founded by Merve Mataraci Orsek in late 2020, MyAprils™ has been introducing its private-label products to its customers in Florida and around the world through online marketplaces. As a women-owned business, MyAprils™ has reached more than $200,000 in sales volume and focused on excelling in sustainability and product diversity in Turkish towels for bathroom, kitchen, and outdoors while offering their customers a variety of choices in decorative throws blankets, pillow covers, kitchen dining decor, handknitted bags, and hand-made stylish jewelry.

Four years ago, I moved with my family from Istanbul, Turkey to St. Petersburg, Florida. I had just completed my bachelor's degree in dentistry and had worked as a dentist in Turkey for a decade. Leaving behind my career, friends, and family was not an easy decision, but I knew it was a new beginning for us.
Upon our arrival in St. Petersburg, I spent most of my time with my three-year-old daughter since we had no family or acquaintances nearby. However, I felt the need to do something that would keep me busy and fulfilled. Due to the accreditation process between the two countries, I was unable to continue my career as a dentist, which led me to start a small business. I began selling jewelry and home goods online, and with hard work and dedication, I established the brand 'MyAprils,' named after my daughter's Turkish name.
Through 'MyAprils,' I design and create unique and decorative home products as well as jewelry and accessories for those who appreciate one-of-a-kind pieces. My interest in DIY projects, decorating living spaces, and interior design has led me to pursue a career in real estate, where I can combine my passions to provide comfort and joy to others.
