Chel & Bead Creations

Chelsey is an Ojibwe (status) artist from Lac Seul First Nation residing on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, MB. Three years ago, she began Chel & Bead Creations as an outlet to be creative and reconnect with her cultural roots. Inspired by nature, Chelsey creates earrings, hair clips, and wristlets. She has self-taught herself how to sew hair scrunchies and attach beadwork to belt bags and jewelry boxes to expand her skillset. Her work has been featured by the Northern Cultural Expressions Society’s Gallery in Whitehorse, Yukon as well as carried by Fort Whyte Alive’s Nature Shop here in Winnipeg. Her work has travelled all over Canada (e.g. British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, Northwest Territories) in the form of custom orders. Chelsey considers herself to be an independent artist and not a registered business as her craft was begun as a hobby.
