Manager

Julie Engel
Julie started farming livestock in 2005 for the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Tarrytown, NY. In 2008, she moved north and worked on the Northland Sheep Dairy for a year before relocating to Wisconsin where she spent the next 10 years. She lived in and around Madison growing vegetables and raising rabbits for meat in an alternative method she calls The Coney Garth. In 2018, she bought her own farm in Montague, MI a scant 30 miles north of where she grew up. She met her now-husband Dan Lorenz in March of 2019. Dan is a gifted mechanic, animal whisperer, reluctant part-time farmer, and truck enthusiast. Julie peddles frozen pork, lamb, and turkey at her beloved Muskegon Farmer's Market, the very same market she grew up going to (and begging her mom to buy zucchini- can you imagine!?)
