About

Introducing "March 8," our culinary venture dedicated to redefining the indulgent delight of donuts with our unique creation known as puff puffs. These delectable snacks hold a cherished place in the hearts of people across Africa, serving as a beloved treat enjoyed far and wide. Our puff puffs are a culinary masterpiece, featuring deep-fried, leavened dough balls that transcend the ordinary. What sets us apart is our commitment to elevating the taste experience with an array of tantalizing flavors. Picture this: golden orbs of perfection served with velvety custard, rich African chocolate, and an assortment of tropical toppings that transport your taste buds to exotic locales. We have many options in terms of flavors, we have yeast, glazed, sugar, chocolate, cream filled, chocolate filled, cinnamon, maple, strawberry and mango. On March 8, we take pride in crafting an immersive culinary journey, where each bite is a celebration of diverse tastes and textures. Everything will be freshly made at the market and I use propane to fry the puffs. Additionally, I use Geni’s Ethiopian Corner Kitchen as a kitchen to prepare ingredients needed.

I was born and raised in Ethiopia. I was exposed to many cultures and many dishes. March8 will offer many types of puff puffs for customers. Puff Puffs are loved by many. Puff Puffs are a very popular street food mainly in Africa. Countries such as Ghana, Ivory coast, congo, Sudan, Liberia, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. Other names for the food include buffloaf for Ghana, Bofloto in Ivory Coast, Mikate in Congo, bolinho in Angola, legemat in Sudan, Kala in Liberia, Pasti/Chornake in Ethiopia and magwinya in South Africa and Zimbabwe. During my time in Ethiopia, I was blessed to serve Puff Puffs. It was very popular back then and I had many customers. In Ethiopia, I had many experiences cooking puff puffs in my own company. I served many flavors to customers. Once I moved to Seattle Washington, I started working with Geni’s Ethiopian Corner at Ballard Market, U district, Phinney market, Capitol Hill, Microsoft and Colombia Market. While working here, I have gained many experiences that altered and shaped me to be a very good candidate. I am now ready to produce my own puff puffs. I am still employed at Geni’s Ethiopian Market. During my shift, I open, I set up the tints, Help customers with their order, take cash as well as fry Sambusas in the kitchen. My experience here has taught me many things such as being well organized, time management, critical thinking, working with a team and other many beneficial skills that will lead me to succeed if I get my application approved.
