C Bar G Ranch - Buss Co. Popcorn

We are a family farm- ranch. We started growing popcorn about 6 years ago on our family farm near Arlington, Mn. We have grown over the years and last year we moved to South Dakota. We are located 5 miles west of Watertown, Sd just off highway 212. We start in the spring planting our popcorn with a 1949 M farmall and Allis Chalmers corn planter, just like our grandparents did. Then we thin the crop by hand, and soon after that we cultivate with our M and a mounted cultivator. Pray for rain all summer long and start picking by hand when the crop is ready and she'll each cob and dry, clean the bad kernals out and bag the popcorn. It's a lot of hard work but that's what our family and business is built on.
