Description
This later season fire morel is meaty, thick-walled, and a little milder than the conica morel. It is also naturally resistant to insect attack (as chanterelles are.) It loves to grow in the high mountains through the summer, sustained by the occasional thunderstorm. Some years we can pick these right into October! Thanks to its large size, this is the variety preferred for stuffing and roasting/grilling.
