Wayward Distillery is a craft distillery located in the heart of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Balancing tradition with creativity, Wayward was the first distillery in Canada using honey as the base for all of its spirits. We have now grown to include B.C. winter wheat based products in our line-up as well, while still maintaining a honey-centric flair.
Our signature Unruly Vodka and Unruly Gin are beautiful, hand-crafted examples of what can happen when unruly people meet unruly bees. Couple this with our seasonally changing, ultra-small batch line of experimental releases and you will truly understand our need to break moulds and blaze trails.

Sara Unrau
Sara is the General Manager and a part owner of Wayward Distillery. She has been with Wayward since its inception and was originally set up in the tasting room and at farmers markets to bring the love of honey-based Wayward spirits to the masses. She took over as GM in 2019 where her skills in admin and HR were put to good use. She speaks fluent French, has a degree in History and spends most of her free time with her husband and children enjoying everything the Comox Valley has to offer!
