KLIPPERS ORGANIC ACRES

Farmer

About

We are a young family who farms approximately 40 acres in the beautiful Similkameen Valley. We strive on growing healthy food using organic methods and raising happy pastured animals. We sell our produce mostly at farmers markets and restaurants throughout the Vancouver area. We are a very diversified farm who care for and manage the land responsibly. We grow an array of produce from peaches, apricots, nectarines, apples, onions, peppers, tomatoes, corn, and garlic and more!
We believe in Organic sustainable farming but we also believe in energy efficiency and taking advantage of what mother nature provides to us. We use geothermal energy for heating and cooling. We have always been interested in harvesting the sun or the wind for power and as of 2009 we are now harvesting the sun.
We have a passion for growing organic food and sharing what we know to new up and coming farmers. We have developed an extensive apprenticeship program on our farm takes 5 to 8 apprentices a year.
If you're in the neighborhood come check us out (best to call us first). We are located just off of Hwy. 3 past Keremeos on the way to Osoyoos. Turn right at the amber light store on Couthart then a left onto Ferko Road. We are half way down.
We have been finalist in the outstanding young farmer of the year award 3 years in a row- 2005, 2006, 2007. We won the award in 2011!
We have also won the organic harvest award from COABC for the best direct farm marketer.
