We serve green smoothies and fruit-filled popsicles. We will start small with
simple recipes that include peaches from a Brigham City-based
farm, as well as fruit and greens from a local distributor. The vision is
to, whenever possible, buy fruits and vegetables from our
neighboring Sugar House Market farm stands and create fresh smoothie
recipes as the growing seasons evolve. Guests will have a nutritious
beverage option, and we will directly support the Market's vendors.
ABOUT KALO SMOOTHIE CO
My family and I recently relocated to Sandy after many years in the Hawaiian
Islands;. During my time there I ran several major resort restaurants in
Waikiki. I love the food and beverage industry but was often
discouraged by the food waste that resulted from those operations.
Kalo Smoothie Company was born of a desire to support local
farmers, bring island-style nutrition to my community, and reduce the
farm grown food that is thrown out during these events.
We will always use local fruit and vegetables first for our green smoothies and popsicles as they are available in the growing season. Should we need to supplement with additional products, we will use available certified organic from area distributors.
