As a Spanish instructor at the University of Alabama, I was aware of a consistent issue; students seeking tutors at all times around their busy schedule & my colleagues seeking students to tutor around theirs. With 3 colleges and over 42,000 attendees (from freshmen to graduate) in the Tuscaloosa area alone, I wondered why this problem existed. I realized the problem was students and tutors are not able to connect as efficiently as they should. With more research I realized TUTR could enrich a community further by encouraging and rewarding both the students who seek academic help as well as the community that accepts the mobile app.
