The Preppy Pretzel (Countryside Confections LLC)

The Preppy Pretzel was founded by Daniela Stephanz Anderson, an Austrian/Italian American who learned to make her traditional Laugenbrezels (Bavarian-style soft pretzels) using a generations-old recipe as a child in the Tyrolean Alps, where her mother and grandmother were born and raised. Daniela has spent a lifetime perfecting and sharing her legendary pretzels. They are the most authentic and best tasting pretzels you will ever eat on this side of the Atlantic,

We use all-natural ingredients and no added sugar. Only five ingredients go into our pretzels: a custom blend of locally milled, unbleached, non GMO flours, diastatic malt, locally sourced butter, salt and yeast (plus water). We do not sprinkle salt on our pretzels before baking. We give our customers the option of adding salt and other toppings at the moment of purchase or send them home with packets of pretzel salt if they plan on eating their pretzels later.

All of our pretzels are baked fresh daily, hand rolled and hand dipped in small batches using centuries-old, artisanal techniques. We carve designs on our pretzels to make them artistic and create a distinct signature style.

Almost every ingredient we use in our products is locally sourced: meats, cheeses, produce, locally milled grains, dairy, honey, herbs and more.
