About

To begin with, I love tie dye. My husband and I would go to concerts and I would always purchase a tie dye t-shirt. I would pay a lot of money for an average looking shirt. I decided to try and make my own. That was over twelve years ago. I must admit, I have gotten so much better with practice. I gave away most my t-shirts I made but then, a couple of years ago, a friend suggested that I set up a booth at her brother's birthday party. That was my first experience with selling my product. I made a couple hundred dollars and some custom orders. Soon after, I decided to register my trade name and began, "Dyin' to Tie."
I believe that my tie dye is unique and age neutral. My mom wears my tie dye and everywhere I go, I get compliments on my clothing. I've made adult onesies and also tie dyed a man's suite, which had some wine stains.
I also make beaded gemstone jewelry. I use real gemstones and I am encouraged by the healing power that these gems signify. Some stones make you feel calm and positive, whereas others make you feel on edge.
I have a strong knack for color and using that strength helps me produce beautiful tie dye and jewelry. I enjoy creating unique and colorful items for people to wear; I believe that my items make people feel good.

Production Practices

I make all of my tie dyes with one goal in mind . . . what would I wear? I love the bright colors and the soft cotton against my skin. My jewelry is made up of natural gemstones. I've looked into the healing of some gemstones and it's quite interesting. I use my talent with color on my jewelry too. I need to stop making the sets for myself, but I love the way jewelry makes me feel.

I started this business about two and a half years ago. During that time, I took care of my husband and my mother. I guess I never got the business off the ground, but I'm working at it. I have since transformed my husbands home based office into my own boutique. It's close to being open to the public. I'll have to have a grand opening! I love doing what I do and I love seeing my friends, new and old, adorning my artwork.

Location

Colorado Springs, CO

I have a boutique located above my detached garage. It is on my property and anyone interested in shopping can call me and we can set up an appointment for you to come and "browse" through my homemade items. You may enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee or soda and just take it easy. I'm located close to the Broadmoor so you can sit out on the deck and get an amazing view of the mountains. Who knows, maybe you'll see a fox or some deer.
