The Foragers and The Baker

My name is Misty Harger. I am the baker in The Foragers and The Baker. My husband and children enjoy spending their extra time foraging and learning about wild edibles, which we have started to include in our home bakery as a side to go along with delicious treats and breads. Every season brings about new life and it’s exciting and refreshing to share.
I have been baking since I was a child. Many holidays I spent sitting on a stool watching my grandmother make some of the most delicious pies and cakes and, on many occasions, I was my mother’s helper when we were expecting company, as we often were. All of these opportunities that I had to watch and learn sparked an interest that has just continued to grow and it has been wonderful passing all of this along to my children, whom, by the way, have become great little helpers themselves.
Our menu has a wide variety of baked goods ranging from many types of bread to some very delicious cakes, pies and pastries. There is definitely some European influence to my baking as Julia Child is a favorite of mine. If you ever have a chance to watch her croissant video, it’s the best and makes me laugh every time!
Overall, our mission is to love on our city well and to help make it a better place.
