L & C Smith Groves

L & C Smith Groves was founded in 1982, and has been providing quality citrus to the public ever since. Located in Exeter, California we started with 120 acres. We are a family company, started by grandfather left to his grandson then expanded to husband and wife, then soon followed the addition of children.

In December of 1991, after making the decision to continue expanding, we decided to try our hand at participating at the San Luis Obispo Farmer’s Markets. We made our first trip over to the coast in our 1988 Chevy S-10 Pickup, loaded to the max with our oranges. Our customer base quickly became larger and with our fruit being more in demand we decided to purchase a bigger truck and add additional varieties to our groves. Not only did we expand our citrus variety, but we also added 21 varieties of peaches, plums, pluots and cherries.

Through the years we have developed many wonderful friendships with fellow farmers and customers thanks to the enjoyable family atmosphere at the San Luis Obispo Farmer’s Markets. We look forward to the future continued success of the San Luis Obispo Farmer’s Markets for many years and generations to come.

We grow over 39 varieties of citrus, 21 varieties of stone fruits and high quality avocados.
