I am a professor by day and jewelry designer by night. I’ve been making jewelry as a hobby since college. Over the past few years, the creative and technical aspects of this craft has given me a productive outlet to retreat into— my escape into a world of beauty and design. It is fulfilling to create pieces for others to enjoy. My work is a combination of new and vintage. Often pieces have elements of both as up-cycled or reconfigured vintage works. From 1940s French francs to 1980s bold necklaces, from matte gold wheat chain to crystal embellished cuff bracelets, my works offer unique looks with modern appeal and relevance. And, each piece is designed and hand made by me.

By day, I am a professor in Psychological Sciences at William & Mary. My area of expertise is cognitive neuroscience. I am particularly interested in how our mind and brain represent and operate in the world around us. My primary research focuses on the space of thought and the multi-modal understanding of three dimensional world. A secondary interest lies in the area of neuroaesthetics— specifically, the role of art and museums in cognition and society. It is here where my day job and my night hobby intersect. The creative and technical aspects of jewelry design and build offer a welcome retreat for my mind and brain to relax within after a day of academic rigor and responsibility.
