We locally produce elotes: fresh, Mexican-style, non-sweet white corn. El Sabor Latino! This corn is a key ingredient in so many authentic recipes from Latin America and has been virtually unavailable in the US. It is eaten grilled, boiled or as a savory base in a diverse array of traditional Latin American dishes. It is the taste of the culinary heritage of so many Latin Americans, evoking deep emotional responses.
We started to produce elotes six years ago to share this unique product with family and friends. Word has gotten around and we are now distributing elotes across Iowa and Minnesota.
