About

My name is Mike Simpson and I am an artist who makes stone tools, which is called flint knapping. I also design and create stone knives, necklaces, traditional arrows and spear points.
I have always been interested in Archeology and Native American art. As a youngster, I used to go arrowhead hunting with my grandfather and fell in love with finding artifacts that had not been touched by human hands in thousands of years. That hobby gave me the inspiration and desire to replicate the work of the Native Americans. In 2014, I began my flint-knapping journey, which continues today. I enjoy using many types of materials including chert, jasper, and obsidian. I make arrowheads and stone tools crafted in the tradition of the Plains Indians. I also enjoy replicating arrowheads and blades that were made by Native Americans who inhabited the western coastal states.
