City of Waco Sustainability & Resiliency

Waco City Council has established “Support Sustainability” and “Provide a Safe and Resilient City” as strategic goals for our city. Sustainability encompasses a wide range of focus areas such as:

land use & development standards
air & water quality to energy utilization
reduction/elimination of pollution
It is the policy of the Waco City Council that our operations support proven, cost-effective strategies and initiatives enhancing environmental sustainability by increasing the use of renewable energy and decreasing the concentration of air pollutants.

Whether the motivation be climate change, global warming, avoiding the more stringent regulations that accompany a non-attainment designation, or concern for the quality of life in the region, environmental sustainability merits attention and action.
