I am an Armenian-American born and raised in the many diaspora communities of Boise, Idaho. I studied in Uganda in 2016 and quickly fell in love with the culture, seeing so many pieces of my own culture in the ways my home stay family and my now-in laws lived. From the way they value authentic community, and the importance of local, simple, organic food designed to nurture and bring connection, I saw so many connections to the way I was raised and the values my ancestors have lived in for centuries. I met my partner in the same year and we have since built a life based around adventure, the pursuit of new experiences, and the excitement of bringing our people on those journeys with us. This has culminated in this concept of bringing Ugandan street food to people, with the hope of experiencing a little bit of a place we both call home- The Pearl of Africa.
