We are a great-gramma and gramma, (mother Lorre & daughter Barbie) small backyard nursery. We grow our flowers from seeds and cuttings. We started growing out of our living room and it grew into more.
I'm Barbie. My parents are Lorre and Ken. My parents always had an enormus garden and flower beds. My father passed in 2020 and and now that we started growing flowers this year it has brought such happiness and joy back to our home. The reception from the Fort Wayne community and seeing my mother smile again with purpose is a feeling I've never experienced before. Flowers bring so much happiness to the world.
Production Practices
Extended Growing Season Use Only Organic Materials
We start by plating seeds in the winter inside a controlled climate environment. We also use cuttings from mother plants to grow new plants. For pesticide control we use Palmolive non-antibacterial soap and water along with essential oils like neem oil. We alos overwinterize some flowers like begonias and petunias. Flowers like dahlias we take the tuber out of the soil and store in winter to replant the next year. Tuber plants commonly multiply tubers so one plant can grow into many through the years.
