We two best friends that decided to take our love of gardening and grow it. We farm on 3/16th's of an acre as well as in raised beds in our yards. Our love of chemical free food is why we grow as sustainably as we can.
Production Practices
Integrated Pest Management
Anchor Gardens uses crop rotation, cover crops and compost for the health and sustainability of the land we farm on. We use compost tea made from worm castings (we have a worm farm that we compost into) that we use as a foliar spray on our plants once a week. All products used to mix our soil for soil-blocking is OMRI certified. We start all of our own plants from seed. We use seeds from Johnny’s and from Backer’s Creek. All of the Tomatoes that we grow are heirloom. Anchor Gardens uses intensive plantings to reduce weed pressure.
