KIKO is a home bakery specializing in naturally-leavened sourdoughs and soft shokupan milk loaves. KIKO offers Japanese and Korean inspired sweet breads and treats such as the classic melonpan and red bean buns. We also offer bakery staples such as hand-laminated croissants, pain-au-chocolat, savory cheese croissants, and other treats such as brown-butter chocolate chip cookies. To accompany our baked products, KIKO also offers stylish handmade aprons and totes designed with the user in mind Each piece is carefully crafted with 100% cotton denim and is then hand dyed with colors that are inspired by nature and artisanship.
My passion for baking and making food started when I was in middle school, gradually becoming more serious and thoughtful about improving the quality of my products. I started with cookies, then cupcakes, eventually settling on a passion for Japanese shokupan milkbreads and naturally leavened sourdough breads. My method relies on a slow, cold, ferment to allow flavor to mature in my doughs while also enhancing texture of the final crumb. I grew up with a Japanese father and a Korean mother, and my tastes and bakes reflect that upbringing. I hope to be able to share the products of my passion with my community through local artisan and farmers markets in my area.
