I have been a woodworker for more than 40 years. I sell original designs of hardwood furniture and home accessories. My pieces are made with locally sourced hardwoods from Virginia and North Carolina. I welcome visitors to my shop in Powhatan VA by appointment. I accept commissions for larger pieces for the home.
I made my first table more than 35 years ago with a slab of cherry wood from a tree on my great-grandfather's farm. The through-line of all my work, whether a charcuterie board or a coffee table, is the exceptional grain in the wood. My pieces are all original designs, using live-edge hardwood slabs that have outstanding color character and grain. I apply hand-rubbed finishes to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. I source my wood from a dozen sawmills in North Carolina and Virginia. I enjoy working collaboratively with my customers on commissions that will become family heirlooms but are also made to be used and lived with.
