Basil & Bee Microgreens is a small urban farm that I started just a few months ago. I converted our spare bedroom into a grow space and began learning the ins and outs of farming. As a stay at home mom it is the perfect set up for me to be able to involve my son, I am not organic certified, but I do produce my greens as organically as possible. The 5 varieties I currently grow are, Black Oil Sunflower, Rambo Purple Radish, Speckled Pea, Red Garnet Amaranth, and a Salad Mix that is made up of Broccoli, Kale, Kohlrabi, Arugula, and Cabbage, I am working on adding more crops as soon as possible. Although I've been growing for a short time, I have learned so much already and I'm so excited to share my harvests with my local community
I moved to the Treasure Valley in 2016, and because I grew up in a very small town, the number of people here was overwhelming to me. I felt I like I did not fit in and struggled to find a sense of belonging, but over the last few years I've grown to love my home. Basil & Bee Microgreens was born out of my desire to connect further with the community around me, I've been a stay at home mom for the last 4 years and becoming a microgreens farmer has given me the opportunity to add value to my home and my community. I believe food brings people together, and sharing the food I've grown with others has been such fun and rewarding experience in my life. I hope I see you at the market!
