Felted Wool Pins / Brooches

I make my felted wool pins from repurposed wool sweaters, which I obtain from thrift stores or as donations from friends. I wash each sweater in hot soapy water to felt/shrink it. Using my own designs, I cut out shapes from the felted sweaters and polyester batting (for lining). I hand sew to attach buttons, pins, and details, and to sew pieces together. I finish shaping the wool pin by lightly stuffing with polyester fiberfill. My buttons are mostly repurposed from old clothing or purchased from thrift stores, but I buy some new. I use new, commercially purchased thread, pins, batting, and fiberfill.
