Prairie Pride Acres
Vendor
Prairie Pride Acres is situated on 15 acres, located two miles south of Grand Island, NE. When the farm began operations in May of 2013, we concentrated solely on pasture raised eggs and chickens. In 2017, the farm transitioned to raising pigs and grass fed/grass finished, beef. In addition to healthy meat from humanely raised animals, we also grow an assortment of vegetables and fruits, all without the use of any chemicals. Prairie Pride Acres welcomes anyone to stop by for a visit.
The beef cattle raised on Prairie Pride Acres are grass fed and grass finished. The beef is dry aged for 21 days, ensuring tasty and tender cuts. The pigs and cattle are taken to Wahoo Locker where they are processed under USDA inspection. All meat from Prairie Pride Acres is antibiotic-and-hormone-free. With regards to our fruits and vegetables, we do not use any chemicals.

I am a retired, disabled, military veteran. I was born in North Dakota, but raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I graduated from Northeast High. In 2004, I graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology. I have been around agriculture all my life, with fond memories of visiting the family farm in North Dakota as a child during summer breaks. I started my farm, f.k.a. Prairie Pride Poultry, in York, Nebraska in May 2013 because I wanted to become a part of, and contribute to, the growing local food movement. I believe all people should have access to local, healthy meat and produce, and the consumer desires to have that connection with their local producer, to know where their food comes from.
