Briarvale Pottery is a home based studio which was established seven years ago. and located in Mascot, TN. We specialize in stoneware functional wheel thrown pottery. All items are bisque fired to Cone 04, then glazed, and electric kiln fired to Cone 5-6. Each piece is crafted with the mission of making pottery which combines beauty and tactile pleasure with the acts of everyday activities.
Our inventory includes coffee mugs, tumblers, batter bowls, serving & mixing bowls, casserole & baking dishes, French butter crocks, sea salt jars, honey pots, plates, salad sets, chopstick noodle bowls, tea bowls, sake jars, sushi dishes, colander sets (pasta servers), vases, and decorative covered jars.
Production Practices
Briarvale utilizes stoneware clay purchased from ceramic companies located in Nashville, TN and Ashville, N.C. Glazes are purchased from the following ceramic companies: Clayscape, Spectrum, Coyote Glaze, and Midsouth Ceramics. All glazes are microwave, conventional oven, dishwasher and fool safe.
