The Chocolate Rooster

My name is Erica Miller and I’m the baker and owner of The Chocolate Rooster. I live in Lake Sherwood with my husband and daughter. My son graduated from WHS in 2020 and my daughter is graduating this year. I bake out of my home and also in a commercial kitchen for a few local establishments. While I make a variety of desserts, my specialties are Gooey Butter Cupcakes and Gooey Butter Bites. I've been making them ever since a former classmate reached out 12 years ago and asked if I could make gooey butter cake, but in cupcake form for her son. I worked on my techniques for 10 years to consistently get the chewy, caramelized crust and delicious gooey center that my customers know and love. I make a variety of flavors, but the original will always be the winner.
