Description
We start by selecting ornate patterns of vintage silverplate flatware from estate sales, auctions, etc. Over the years we have learned which patterns are the best for making jewelry. We clean and pre-polish the material. Then we cut, shape, bend, flatten, deburr, roll, hammer, and drill. Some material is then textured, other is made smooth. At this point we start to assemble the jewelry. The rings are hand made on a ring vice with a wooden mallet. The bracelets and pendants are assembled using q variety of silver wire, jumprings, split rings, and other fasteners and links, many of which are handmade. All jewelry is then fine polished with different grades of abrasives. Lastly it is buffed to fine luster with liquid polish and buffing wheels. The items we purchase for our jewelry include the antique flatware, semi-precious stones, pearls, crystals, and the magnetic clasp. The entire process is labor intensive and requires all hand work.
