Chopping Block

End Grain Chopping Blocks are handcrafted using maple, cherry, and walnut wood. These are hardwoods with tight grains which are very resistant to bacteria. First, the rough lumber is cut down to size and laminated up. Then the board is cross cut and laminated again with the end grain standing up. The end grain of the wood is a lot more durable than side and face grain. This allows for more chopping and withstands harsher treatment. Boards are treated with food grade mineral oil and beeswax.
