No hormones, no antibiotics fed for growth or disease prevention. Naturally fertilized hay fields using our own composted hay and manure. Proven parasite resistant breeding rams from VA Tech's SWAREC parasite resistance testing program. Vaccines are used to prevent diseases so common diseases like pneumonia are rare. We have never had mastitis, which can have bacteria in common with pneumonia. 100-year-old barn is steam cleaned frequently to kill bacteria and viruses in the wood and on equipment. We practice biohazard caution. Boots and vehicles that have been to other livestock areas are sanitized before entering. Local feed supplier who uses local farms for feed products.
