Flame Box Elder Fruit Bowl

Flame box elder is a very special sort of wood. The red markings are not present on all box elder trees. And I am very lucky to say this wood was locally sourced from where I live in Central Florida. A rare occurrence if you know the area, since most the wood that grows here is either pine, oak or of course palm trees.

This bowl is extremely hefty with very thick walls. I estimate it weighs 3 to 5 pounds. Its about 3 to 4 inches tall and close to 11 inches wide. It would make a wonderful fruit bowl or centerpiece.

The rim of the bowl is food-safe, BPA free ArtResin, with added dyes and colorants. Everything has been sanded, buffed and polish to a silky smooth sheen. It is coated in a protective covering of Carnauba Wax.
