Tender and Tasty Beef, LLC
Farmer
George is a 6th generation Osage County farmer, diesel mechanic and very involved in our local community. I have been a licensed Realtor for over 30+ years, run a small home construction business, enjoy being Grandma to 3 beautiful little girls and work with George on the farm. The farm is located just outside of Westphalia Missouri in Osage County. Hard work and perseverance is deeply in-grained in us both. We farm bottom ground on the Maries River and some ground in Maries County on the Gasconade River. We know we raise great tasting and tender beef and now are building a new business of selling that great tasting beef product directly to the consumer. Our steers are fed grass, hay, corn silage and finished out on a animal nutritionist recommendation ration of corn/hay/mineral ground ration for approx. 180 days before processing. This feeding regimen makes are beef extremely tasty and tender and all our ground beef products are packaged lean and grill up deliciously! When you buy our local grown and fresh farm raised meat you can depend on the quality of our products and we can tell you where that steer has been from start to finish. All our meat products are processed, packaged, labeled and stored to comply with all state requirements for meat sales etc. We are also selling our own farm raised Berkshire pork. These hogs are raised on dirt, mud and grass with plenty of shade and eat hog feed and broken eggs. We also offer free range eggs, great tasting steak N tator burritos, beef sticks, fully cooked German Pot Roast and fully cooked pulled pork - YUM! Our meat is vacuumed packed and quarter, half and whole beefs are available for ordering. This is a new and exciting business to us and we really enjoy talking with and meeting new people and customers. The farmer's market is a wonderful opportunity for our family and farm.

George & Shirley Luebbering
George is a 6th generation Osage County farmer where he raises crops and shorthorn cattle. He and I live just outside of Westphalia Missouri and our farm is on the Maries River. George loves all things farming and takes tremendous pride in raising quality shorthorn cattle and crops. For the last 6 years we've worked to expand our herd using quality bulls with great genetics. The vast majority of the feed is grown on the farm so we know the quality of what our cattle are fed. The shorthorn brand isn't as common in Missouri but this resilient and beefy breed is very common out West because of their thick coat of hair.
George chose the shorthorn breed because of their frame, tenderness gene and gentle nature. His now grown 3 kids showed their own shorthorn steers thru 4-H and then thru FFA at the Osage County fair and won Grand Champion 2 years against strong competition. The ultrasounds taken at the fair as part of the competition showed our beefs to rate as choice plus.
I have lived in Osage County my entire life and entrepreneurship runs strong in my family. Home construction, remodeling and selling real estate has been part of my life forever and I still enjoy it today. George and I are both outgoing and enjoy meeting new people - George has never met a stranger. We both love country living and work hard to maintain the farm, cattle, construction and real estate businesses.
We've decided to launch our own direct to consumer meat distribution because we know we can offer a great product at a competitive price. Farming isn't easy but we feel this is an excellent opportunity to cut out the middle man and level the playing field for our family farm. We've been selling our shorthorn steers to Show Me Farms here in Columbia for the last several years, and George has had a great relationship with them. With Jerome their manager now going in a different direction with his life, we've decided to pick up where he will leave off. We've been told that our steers finish out and grade extremely well. Our steers are being sold to Columbia Missouri consumers already, now they'll be sold by Tasty and Tender Beef by George and Shirley Luebbering!
