About
We are a small family farm and homestead located about 10 miles south of Kalamazoo in Pavilion Township, growing high quality herbs, vegetables and flowers for farmers market, restaurants and local gardens. We grow primarily heirloom and open-pollinated varieties and select for flavor, beauty and regional adaptability. We focus on building resiliency and soil health through regenerative, conservation based, and ecologically informed practices. We enjoy getting to know the individuals and families who visit our market table and we welcome questions and conversation about our produce, growing practices and gardening and food in general.

Production Practices
We use untreated or organic seed and organic soil mix for all of our crops and the plants we sell. We soil test regularly and use organic amendments including compost, kelp, trace minerals, organic mulches and cover crops as needed to build soil and plant health. We do not use plastic mulches on our farm and do our best to reduce plastic use in our transplant production and market table as well. If deemed absolutely necessary to salvage an important crop, we will use organic, biological and non broad spectrum OMRI/NOP approved sprays exclusively, most years we don't spray anything at all. If we have a major problem with a particular insect pest, weed or disease we try to address the root cause of that issue. When it comes to pest and disease pressure we rely on the health of our plants and diversity of plant and insect life to keep things in balance.
