Brog Farms
Specialty Food Artisan
The Brog's came to the Wayland area in 1869. Joe and his son Zach are the 5thand 6th generations on the farm. Hard work and vigilance are cornerstones of their family farm. Livestock and crops have been raised on the farm since the beginning.
Ther are about 125 head of cattle on the farm, ranging in ages from birth to finished aged adults. Cow care and comfort are the main components of the livestock operation. Every individual animal is observed daily to make sure they are well-fed, healthy, and stress free. Cattle have hay, grain, and fresh, clean water available to them at all times. All cattle have access to outside recreational areas, as well as loafing barns, where they can lounge, which are bedded with fresh sawdust or straw. We also grow the majority of our own feed. Only minerals and a couple of supplements are brought in from outside sources. We also raise about 900 acres hay, corn, and soybeans.
Antibiotic And Hormone Free
Fresh water, hay, and grain are available to all animals at all times. Every individual animal has access to outside recreational areas, as well as clean well-bedded lounging barns 24 hours a day. We believethat keeping the animals in a comfortable, stress free environment along with feeding them a well-balanced diet makes for a good life and a better finished product.
