We provide handcrafted pottery and laser etched goods. Our pottery consists of both functional ceramics as well as well non-functional items using the ancient Raku method of firing as well as personalized and custom laser cut items such as leather handbags and crystal decanters. We use the term "gift" lightly because many of our clients tell us they don't give our products away but keep them for themselves.
Production Practices
Our non-functional pottery is created using an ancient firing process called Raku. After an initial bisque fire to prep the clay, the item is then covered in a liquid clay, fired to 1600 degrees to quickly dry and crack the liquid clay, and then placed in a container of combustible materials and caught on fire. The fire is then suffocated and the smoke and carbon results in small lines of black veins infused into the pottery where the liquid clay broke away resulting in a one-of-a-kind design on each piece.
