I design, illustrate, stitch, sand, carve, and paint toys for all ages, I make small batch runs and each new item has a different process. Some are stitched by me and I hire a sewer to help, under my guidance. Others are carved and I then sand, paint and finish. Others are screen printed. My greeting cards are illustrated by me and printed elsewhere. All of my items follow CSPS safety guidelines and I do Govt. safety testing.
Hand-chiseled from birch wood on an electric lathe, each face is screened on me, using water-based paint. Each doll is unique and safe for little hands. I design each animal cape in my Glen Rock studio and work with a woman artist in Nepal to help me hand-stitch each cape. I use sustainably-harvested trees from Maine; when one tree is used, two are planted. Our team includes a zooModern-trained craftswoman, from Nepal to Glen Rock, and each doll is carefully hand-carved and hand-stitched from start to finish.

I design award-winning toys that focus on the animal world. I design, illustrate, stitch, sand, carve, and paint everything myself or with another under my direction and guidance. Before founding zooModern, I was an Art Director for both Sesame Street and Toys R Us- the closing of which focused my attention on making my own wooden toys. My items support sustainable efforts as well as help support animal foundations.
