Incense Gurl was founded and established by Davina D. "Estrella" Ramey. Incense Gurl's Mission is to provide high quality, fresh, locally sourced and sustainable, "Hancrafted and Fragrant Wares" rooted in traditional and ancestral customary uses for support in spiritual healing practices and self care. Incense Gurl also aims to uplift, encourage, support and inspire young entrepreneurs to develop and market thier own crafts and talents to become successful, positive, productive members of society. Incense Gurl's target audience is anyone age 16 and up whom enjoy handmade crafts, incense, salves, baths, teas and remedies. With the younger generations we seek to share our story and be a positive example, encouraging young people to entrepreneurship. The older generations we seek to serve and provide products to support spiritual journey and to help with health needs and self care concerns. Incense Gurl provides an array of original handcrafted jewelry, furniture, clothing , incense, salves, baths, teas and herbal remedies. We also teach classes on incense & herbal remedy making, along with share our story encouraging young entrepreneurs . Mentorships also available Incense Gurl is excited to share all of our inspired products with the community, and would love to host classes and workshops for young people, especially at risk youth, to help them find thier passion and develop ideas that can be marketable.Incense Gurl came to be when our founder DvinaEstrella met Redd Perry, Incense Man of "Redds Lasting Scents" He found Estrella homeless and wandering. Instead of taking advantage of her, he took her in and trained her on how to make handmade incense. His reasoning was so she never had to compromise herself to make money. DvinaEstrella became a mother and began working with herbs more closely, learning that food and plants are medicine, she didn't want to rely on doctors or pharmaceuticals to care for herself and her family so she began to create home remedies. Estrella became well know in the Bay Area for providing unique, strong and beautifully fragrant Incense. Davina became a Certified Community Herbalist. Now a Wife a Mother of 7 and Grandmother to 1, she has taking her healing work to the next level and serves the community as a Full Spectrum Doula, a Peer Counselor, CSEC Mentor, and Educator & Ceremonialist. She Founded a non-profit called Water and Honey Community Well Inc. Sistas in Service International and Flowering Youth Inspirited Young Womens Society. Dvina has only strengthened her love of creating Incense and remedy making working with plant medicine and community over the years. She is inspired to share her story with young people, help them find their gifts, and encourage them towards entrepreneurship. DvinaEstrella wants youth especially, but all folks to be inspired by their own gifts and to, "Never give up no matter what stage of life they are in, to apply themselves, seek all the education they need to thrive, find what they good at and keep following, thier dreams, it is possible to succeed!"
