About

Brothers-in-law Dan and John founded Stone Circle Cider in 2015 with a dream of bringing West Country English cider to Oregon. John grew up in the West Country, a place steeped in thousands of years of folklore, mystery, tradition, and cider. It's the largest and most renowned cider-producing region in the world, which is why Dan apprenticed there for six months learning from of some of its best cidermakers - folks whose families have been making cider for generations. Our line of authentic English ciders is made on our farm in Estacada, Oregon.

Production Practices

Permaculture Design

Our orchard is planted in a traditional, low-density manner and is dry-farmed. Our cider is produced primarily with English and French variety cider apples. These are specialty apples that are higher in tannins and lower in acidity compared to eating apples, which creates a rich, bold and smooth flavor profile in our cider. Additionally, our cider is made once a year, in the fall when apples are in season and then aged until spring.

I own Stone Circle Cider with my sister, Sarah Hamblin, and brother-in-law, John Hamblin. John is from about 5 miles outside of Stonehenge in England, which is the inspiration for our name and style. Southwest England is the largest cider producing region in the world. Dan did an apprenticeship in the region for 6 months, working with some of the world's best cider makers. These cultural experiences provide us with the ability to create truly authentic old-world cider.
