Hi! I am Steph. I am the founder of Basics by Steph. This little small business started with a $89 Singer sewing machine bought as a gift in 2014. It never saw the light of day until we moved into our new home in Fredericksburg, VA in 2019. I Googled easy sewing projects and found scrunchies! I started making scrunchies for my daughter's friends - and they became a hit. My neighbor talked me into doing my first pop up market in September 2020.

Basics by Steph has grown really popular in the past two years! I have branched out into making dog bandanas, super soft twist headbands, and polymer clay earrings.

I work fulltime in healthcare as a Supply Chain Project Manager but love this creative outlet making small batch handmade accessories. I love creating new things and having this space to share the things I love.
