Bittersweet Designs is owned and operated by Sarah Schutt. Sarah works at a rural public school during the day and creates handcrafted jewelry at night. Sarah has been working with beads for many years and recently moved to polymer clay earrings. Clay earrings are very lightweight and versatile. Her husband and two elementary children also support and pitch in as needed.

Sarah is a public school teacher in a rural community. She has taught for many years in grades K, 1, 3, and 4. About 5 years ago she transitioned to instructional coaching where she supports the needs of teachers. Sarah also teaches dance to elementary age children in Marshalltown.
Sarah's husband, Brett, and two children (Ava and Owen) also help support Bittersweet Designs.
