Lavender Hills Farm
Vendor
I have bought Lost Ruby Farm LLC officially as of January 2023. Antonio and Adair were previous WFM vendors known as Lost Ruby Farm! It has been absolutely phenomenal working with them. Over the past year I have been working under their amazing guidance to ensure my cheese products will continue to be nothing but the best that it possible can be.
Currently I have 8 wonderful goat gals. Although we are not certified organic, we use nothing but all natural feeds and hay grown ourselves. All my herbs and ingredients used in the cheese products are always bought local and as natural as possible.
Antibiotic And Hormone Free Holistic Management Pastured
When dealing with medical treatments for my goats, I always only treat when absolutely necessary. From 2017-2022 I was a large animal veterinarian technician. That has taught me so much about appropriately treating livestock. Although I am not organic, I do use a natural goat feed that never contains antibiotics. When dealing with a sick goat that needs treatment, that milk is never used for cheese products while she is on medication. My goats are on a silva-pasture year round. Which is a wood/grass combination, in addition to that they have access to hay 24/7 that is grown on fields free of pesticides and other chemical treatment. The only fertilizer used is composted goat manure.
Kristie Laverdiere
I actually grew up on a beef farm in Granby, CT which is pictured here with my husband Wesley and our pup Willow. Growing up, I had a huge passion for agriculture and still do today. Formally I was a FFA organization member and an active member of my local 4-H club. Leading into my adulthood, I knew being in the agricultural industry was the only path for me. So I went to SUNY Cobleskill to continue my education earning my Associates degree in Agricultural Business and a Bachelors in Animal Science. Once I joined the work force I had the great opportunity to have several careers in many aspects of our local farming community. Over the past 10 years my desire to be a business owner only intensified.
