Schmears is a new concept looking to launch a retail location in Cedar Rapids in the fall of 2023. Serving fresh bagels made daily. Everything from the classics like lox and bacon egg and cheese to seasonal options. Everything is made in house by hand starting with the bagels and carrying through to all the toppings used.
As a Cedar Rapids native I have seen the restaurant community grow and continue to evolve. After working in kitchens for 10+ years including 5+ years at Cobble Hill, I see the need for a local scratch made breakfast focused on doing things the right way. What better way to present this than with a bagel shop focusing on making everything in house and sourcing local ingredients.
