Akilah Williams founded Moonlight Minerals Jewelry in April 2022. She was inspired by the beauty and meaning of crystals. She created wearable healing art for herself and her coworkers in her free time. While vending in Detroit and surrounding areas. By December 2022, over 300 Moonlight Minerals bracelets have been sold. In addition to bracelets, wire-wrapped necklaces, earrings, and unique crystal gifts is part of the Moonlight Minerals collection. She aspires to open up a shop called “Akilah and the Beads” which features Moonlight Minerals Jewelry crystals and a bubble tea lounge. She hopes to educate young entrepreneurs on how to follow their dreams and successfully create a business.
I am a one-woman team. I haul every box, tent, chair, table, and vinyl sign across metro Detroit all in an effort to share my crafts and love of crystals with the public. Vending at Eastern Market would allow me to opportunity to expand my team and build my business. I had the most success at Eastern Market After Dark and another pop-up last July. I can tell Eastern Market is home for my business and I hope that you will consider what I can offer.
