Bello Boopie, Inc.
Material Goods/Craft/Flea/Art
History
Bello Boopie's humble beginnings began in 1970 with the establishment of Things Very Special, and appointment only, home based business. In the early 80's, under new ownership, Things Very Special branched out into the Brick and Mortar world adding fine gifts, formal and social wedding invitations and stationery to the line. When the business changed ownerships in 2015, Things Very Special went under a major transformation. The owner, a Jacksonville native born in St. Vincent's Hospital off Riverside Avenue, not only carried locally made items, but hosted their own mini arts and crafts market at their brick and mortar. Through the encouragement of other artist, Bello Boopie dropped it's third party past and rebranded at Bello Boopie
Present
With the exploration into arts markets via our community connection program, we ditched non handmade and put our artistic skills to create a line of not so normal greeting cards. Our mission, establish in 1970, remained the same: connect the "write" way. The current market is not so fond of stuffy stationery, and would rather find humor. Being a Jacksonville Native, humor in the city we were founded, born and raised in came naturally. We dare to step outside the norm and enjoy the laughter and "these are actually funny!" comments when at markets. Through the love of the community, we have closed our brick and mortar store and are exclusive at Riverside Arts Market, Downtown Art Walk, Orange Park Farmers and Arts Market, and local small businesses.
All our paper is produced in Southeast USA from a waste free company that is FSC certified. We believe in sourcing locally to keep cost down, environmental impact through transportation, and support for our local economy.
All in house aspects are handmade. We order larger sheets of paper and hand cut each sheet. After printing, everything is hand folded to minimize impact on the environment and save our customers money
