I create a mix of modern and southwestern style wooden wall art with a combination of reclaimed and purchased wood. Each piece is hand cut, hand painted and then assembled to create a unique design.
I started this adventure in 2020 when life seemed to change for so many people. I was furloughed from a natural resource position and began woodworking as a hobby. Slowly but surely it became my full time gig!
Shaina Hyman ( it's just me :) )
My husband and I moved from Charleston, SC at the end of 2019, for a chance to work and live in a Virginia State Park. I was furloughed from my new natural resource position almost immediately, due to the 2020 pandemic, and quickly started woodworking as a hobby, which thankfully led to a full-time job! I now have a small she shed (way back in the woods) to call my workshop!
I use a mix of reclaimed/ recycled/ unwanted and purchased wood to create each piece of wall art. While many of my designs are repeated, no two pieces of wood are identical, which helps to create a unique finish for each piece of artwork.
I spend most of my free time enjoying the trails and beach in the park where we live, snuggling my two dogs (Beatrice and Timber), and going on new adventures with my husband.
