I AM Farms LLC
Vendor
Family friends Stacey Batchelor and Doug Browder began I AM Farms in April of 2022 for the purpose of growing microgreens. Doug first heard of microgreens about 8 or 9 years ago and had started accumulating equipment over the last couple of years. The time was right to begin last spring. We have participated in farmers markets in Harker Heights, Sun City, Georgetown, Circle C Ranch, Lago Vista and other venues with Savory Markets.
Use Only Organic Materials Non Gmo
Our goal is to make the most nutritious and best tasting microgreens possible. To achieve this we use an organic soil blend with a balanced microbiome in 10x20 growing trays, organic nutrients, heirloom non gmo seeds and specialized grow lights in a climate controlled grow room. The biggest potential issues with growing microgreens is mold and a condition called dampening off. Temperature, air flow, pH, and humidity are the main variables and are kept within set parameters. After harvesting we wash and then sterilize the trays with a peracetic acid solution. We don't reuse the soil. Some seeds are prone to mold during germination, so with those we spray an organic anti-fungal upon seeding.
