Healing at English River Outfitters

Healing at English River Outfitters has worked hard to create an environment to help those newly readjusting back to civilian life or looking for ongoing support through outdoor experiences meant to heal. Veterans and families are welcome to experience a variety of therapeutic, group-based activities designed to reestablish confidence, hope, and health.
We believe there is healing in nature; therefore, we emphasize an outdoor experience where veterans can fish, hunt, and hike in the woodlands surrounding our facilities as well as relax in our beautiful, newly built lodge that has space for gatherings of all sizes. We believe that all Veterans should be able to participate in outdoor activities and have created means of outdoor activities with our all-terrain, motorized chair to allow full utilization of the land. The veterans we serve participate in sporting activities that challenge and empower them, all while immersed in Iowa’s natural, refreshing wilderness.
